I'm a city girl born and bred. My dad's a Maltese migrant, my mum's an Australian with a large Irish background. They met in Sydney, NSW, and before too long were getting ready to start a family - they started with me!
I've lived in several parts of Sydney. I was born in Sydney's inner west, and lived in the area until I was about 5. By then my younger sister and brother had arrived, and in a quest for more space we moved across the harbour to an area closer to the bush. About a year later, my youngest sister came along.
We're now living in a relatively "classy" part of Sydney. I like the area for its quietness but loathe it for the competition and need to keep up with the neighbours. I could never see myself living here all my life, nor would I want to.
I think my aversion to aspects of city life is why I feel so at home in the country, and why I could make it my true home.
